Nothing is more exciting to a child than celebrating the holidays and enjoying fun-filled times with family. We have now officially entered the holiday season. This is the perfect time to create memories with loved ones. Here are some great ideas to help families enjoy “the most wonderful time of the year!”

1.Drive around to see the lights-

It’s always fun to see how passionate your neighbors and community members are about the holidays. This is an inexpensive activity that the entire family will enjoy. Pack everyone into the car and drive around to see the beautiful display of lights all around.

2. Decorate cookies-

Who doesn’t love yummy cookies? Everyone enjoys food, and while cooking does not always come easy to some, baking with family and friends is a sure way to encourage laughter and create new memories.

3. Family movie nights-

Choose a movie that grandpa will enjoy just as much as the baby of the family. Make popcorn and pile up in the living room. Here are a few great family movie suggestions:

  • ELF
  • Big Hero 6
  • Toy Story
  • Polar Express
  • Frozen
  • The Grinch
  • A Christmas Story
  • Night at the Museum
  • Despicable Me
  • Jingle All the Way

4.Host a family game night-

Have you ever played Scattergories? What about Taboo? It’s always fun to watch family and friends be completely silly! Convince everyone to make their favorite dish and bring it over for a fun game night!

5. Sledding-

Is it snowing outside? Well don’t just stand there…bundle up and head for the hills for some exciting sledding! After all, who wouldn’t like speeding down a snowy hill with family?

6. Story night-

Do you have that grandparent who tells the best stories? Are there a few books that have become a part of your family? If so, grab some hot chocolate and your favorite pajamas, and gather around for story time!

We hope your holiday season is filled with love, laughter, and happiness.
