Calling All Ghouls : It's Halloween

Calling all....

Calling all souls; it’s that time again! Halloween is finally here. This is one of the biggest and most anticipated holidays worldwide. Although this year has been very scary, our little munchkins can still have some Halloween fun! Create an experience they’ll never forget with costumes, tons of candy, games, and so much more. In light of halloween we've come up with a few costume ideas for your kid to choose from, but first let's talk Covid. Kids are mostly excited to dress as their favorite character and to fill their bags with tons of candy. Yes, it’s all about the experience but of course we are facing something much bigger than tiny monsters and treats. It is extremely important to add a mask to every costume.

“According to the CDC, characters that require bodysuits that include a face covering, such as Spiderman or Deadpool, may not fit the CDC requirement because they could lack two layers of cloth over the nose and mouth.” Trick or treating is not recommended, but if you must : Please wear a mask if you’re planning on going door-to-door.

In order to decrease Covid, we have to decrease the level of interaction during this eventful holiday season. Let’s create memories and start new traditions inside! You’re probably thinking, "I’ve literally had to entertain my child everyday since Covid started, how can I do this again with NEW ideas for Halloween?" Glad you asked. Bring on the scary movies, decorate the house, have a trick or treat relay race, bake ghost cupcakes, and have a blood ball to end the night right. So, Who’s ready to take a blood bath? Gather your little ghouls for a little fun on the inside.

Games.

Halloween on the inside doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Make it even more fun and exciting with games. We’ve found “pin the eye on the zombie”. Place your poster board with the zombie wherever you’d like. Put the blindfold on your child and give them the eyeball and let kids pin the eye on the zombie. You don’t have to necessarily get this game in particular, but this was our favorite. It’s only $6.99 on amazon! If you’re opting out of trick or treating this year, your kids will enjoy a Trick-or-Treat Relay Race game. All you need is tons of candy, 2 huge buckets, 2 small-buckets, and children to top it off. The object of the game is to see who can fill their bucket with the most candy. Whoever fills their's up the most gets all the candy. Sucks for you mom - but woohoo for the littles!
  • Divide the kids into teams.
  • Fill your bucket with candy.
  • Provide teacher starter with a small bucket.
  • Put 3 minutes on the clock.

Trick or Treat

Turn on the oven and conjure up a few scary treats. Hey, we’re not professionals here so we’re going to take the easy way out.

Bake your chocolate or vanilla cupcakes with icing and ADD a cute halloween cupcake topper! You can also go to your local dollar store and get a bag filled with creepy crawlers and place it on top of your cupcakes - super easy and still fun for the kids.

Blood Punch

Give your kids a real scare this season with blood punch. Here are some of the things you need. For a gory effect - add eyeballs to your mix.

  • Grab a container
  • Add your favorite red punch
  • Add Ginger-Ale
  • Add Lemonade
  • Drop a few eyeballs inside.
