Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (you can use whole-wheat flour)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine the flour and cocoa in a bowl.
  3. Beat butter and sugar (with an electric mixer if possible). Add the egg and vanilla, and beat until well blended
  4. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until blended.
  5. Shape dough into a disk, wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Roll out dough on parchment paper to about 1/4 of an inch.
  7. Cut out the football shapes with a cookie cutter. (I got my cookie cutter at Hobby Lobby).
  8. Place on cookie sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  9. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  10. Cool. If you want to add decorations, now is the time!
  11. Enjoy your cookies while watching some football.
