For a lot of first time parents, it can be a daunting task to complete all the To-Dos before your baby arrives. One of the items on your To-Do list should be banking your baby’s newborn stem cells. Unfortunately for many first time parents, awareness of cord blood banking occurs late in the third trimester.
In addition, many parents have shelled out a lot of cash for a nursery and all the required baby accessories. Perhaps even a Babymoon, Gender Reveal party, or Baby shower has also dipped into your funds. The most common answer we hear on why parents don’t sign up is because they just can’t afford it.
Before you write off banking your baby’s stem cells, here are a few things to consider:
- Did you know that the FDA has approved newborn stem cell treatment for over 80 diseases?
- Did you know that newborn stem cells are currently being used in clinical trials for autism, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, type 1 diabetes, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, stroke, heart failure, liver damage and many more?
- Did you know that your baby’s stem cells are a genetic match to themselves and a 75% match or a partial match to a sibling?
